Productivity Hacks: How I am Fighting Back With YouTube and Netflix

Your productivity will skyrocket if you follow these tips

I had a few weeks' streak of productivity in copywriting. Then I fatigued mentally and wanted some entertainment.

Little did I know that I would be sucked into a K-drama series for a week. Once that week passed, I focused back to copywriting.

After a week of progress, one morning was lost in an interesting YouTube video on war analysis. It’s like I go ten steps forward and one step backwards.

How to fight this battle with myself?

One great way to fight is to disable YouTube on my phone. This worked wonders.

Another fruitful way is an app time tracker. You can see which app takes up most of your time, and you can cut back on that one. Another one will take its place, but you keep your focus on the biggest problem.

I also fight back with Netflix occasionally. Although I had a week of Netflix, I had months off Netflix before that.

Never install Netflix on your phone.

The best way to deal with Netflix is to avoid the TV series. Enjoy the movies. They are a one-off enjoyment. You don’t have to come back to part 2.

The series will hook you, and you will come back to it for the next episodes.

Always remember one thing. Self-control does NOT work.

Many great men tried self-control and failed to women, drugs or alcohol. So avoidance is the best bet.
