Email Marketing: Lift vs Sales Email
Understand the pros and cons of each
Email marketing is one of the cheapest mediums of marketing.
You reach potential customers' inboxes without paying for any platform.
For any other type of marketing, you have to pay a hefty fee to Google, Facebook, or a newspaper.
But many companies don’t use their email marketing very well.
Either they don’t have email marketing campaigns or they are not well designed.
So what are the different types of emails you send to your customers?
Sales Email
In sales email, you send the email detailing the product, features, and benefits.
You also include your testimonials and social proof in the email.
Effectively, you do the selling in the email.
You don’t direct them to a landing page or sales page to convince them further.
You include a link to an order form where the customer clicks and enters their card details.
Lifts
The objective of a lift is to get the click to a sales page or landing page.
The selling is done on the sales page.
The lift will entice the customer just enough to get them to click.
It is like a movie trailer where you generate the interest of the viewer without giving them the secret of the story.
They have to watch the movie to know the plot and the ending.
The same thing goes for the lift. You generate intrigue in the reader so that they click the link to see the details of the product or promotion.
If you give them the details of the promotion, they have no reason to click.
Conclusion
A good mix of lift and sales email can lift your marketing and increase revenue.
A good email marketer knows when to use lifts and when to use sales email.
That is the topic for another article.
